Am not sleepy at 3 am:S that's weird weird weird, lately I've had some health problems (not major thing) but disturbed my relaxing days of my open end summer vaccation, but tonight although i have to work tomorrow early am not sleepy!!:D
Yup, Finally me recruited, and in something that i love doing "DEVELOPMENT" and social work..It all started last December when i volunteered to the ECWR (the egyptian center for women's rights) and i worked in some events with the centre, being an active volunteer in the campaign against sexual harassment i was offered this job "project coordinator" holding also the project on FGM from UNICEF and an Italian organization(AIDOS).
So, i usually panic on the night before any job am taking, and especially this time, i've took a job that needs time and dedication which am willing to, but also i've got much to learn and know about since all my previous experiences were in Journalism and translation.
As usual i slept very little, woke up got ready, took a sip of coffee and went, the office is in Maadi, which is supposedly not "that far" from Nasr City, but still i didn't know how much time exactly it will take me, so i left house at 10 past 8, i arrived there at 8,40..that looked naive lol.
I got my stuff and waited sitting on the stairs, these moments just before any one shows up, i was imagining how my day will be, and how my future in this job will develop, i got lots of thoughts and was also thinking about going back home to blog them all...
The office boy showed up and i was the first to enter the office, and then my day started...
Despite that i've took loads of tasks to do, and have lots of things that needs to be finished, i loved the fact that am learning something new, that also i love doing, before joining the centre i enjoyed social work but didn't have the guidelines or the theory, i want to do my best to gain as much experience as i can get inshAllah..
But the fun started meeting members of the office, how gossips started, and how they talk about each other it was amazing to listen to girls sharing the room in which i was put , telling me how they thank God i came to be with them so that they find someone else to talk to rather than the manager lol, it was funny how each person enters the room when they leave talk starts!!!
I saw the real work world thingie, i've never been into one work for a long time the longest was a month, but in trainings i dont mix much i do my work, and get what i want, but this time it's a place to last for a while, and i should mix and i see it interesting !! and funny lol...
Till now i got no desk no computer:D:D i got with my own laptop but am promised an office and a computer in the new floor the centre taking but it's gonna take a while, honestly i don't care at all as long as i find a place to put my stuff am okay with it:)
My boss and I are friends which is the best, we've already been to BurkinaFaso together, and worked on many events together, girls been envying me i work with her, she's American and living in Egypt for three years now, the sweetest American girl i've met, i respect her so much am happy am working with her, she has a great experience in advocacy and development, i would love to learn from her.
So, Think it's time to catch some sleep, wish me luck!! and mmmm that's it hehe now am in the dreaming phase, Sweet dreams World...till next time:)
